Stare, ale jare! Pomimo 6 lat obecności na rynku, Renault Clio w kwietniu okazało się najpopularniejszym nowym samochodem w Europie.
Według danych Jato Dynamics, w kwietniu w Europie sprzedano 19 820 sztuk Clio. Choć jest to spadek o 3% w porównaniu z analogicznym miesiącem zeszłego roku, to wystarczyło, by Clio wyprzedziło swoich największych rywali, czyli Dacię Sandero oraz Peugeota 208. Jest to też pierwszy od listopada 2021 r. triumf małego Renault w europejskim rankingu najpopularniejszych nowych modeli.
Choć pod względem wolumenu sprzedaży obecne Clio nie dorównuje swoim poprzednikom, to nadal jest na liście bestsellerów w Europie. Spece z Renault po prostu wiedzą jak trafiać w gusta klientów. Atrakcyjne nadwozie, oszczędne silnik, łatwe prowadzenie i konkurencyjna cena to mocne atuty w walce o klienta. A dzięki ostatniemu liftingowi z 2023 r., Clio zyskało świeższy wygląd upodobniający go do stylistyki najnowszych modeli Renault. Pomimo zainteresowania klientów, dni piątej generacji Clio są jednak policzone. Kolejna generacja już przechodzi przedprodukcyjne testy, a jej prezentacja spodziewana jest pod koniec roku.
O miniaturze – Renault Clio
Obecne Clio w topowej wersji Esprit Alpine prezentowałem na blogu w ubiegłym roku. Teraz chciałem pokazać Wam model w niższej specyfikacji – Techno. Z wyglądu od wersji Esprit Alpine różni się przede wszystkim brakiem ozdobnej listwy w przednim zderzaku i innym wzorem felg. Innych wizualnych zmian praktycznie nie ma.
Sam modelik korzysta oczywiście z tej samej formy, więc jego wszystkie wady i zalety są również identyczne. Do mocnych stron zalicza się odwzorowanie przednich i tylnych świateł oraz powłoka lakiernicza. Kolor czerwony Flamme wygląda fantastycznie i według mnie, jest najelpszym kolorem dla Clio (poza niebieskim Iron). Mieszane uczucia wzbudzają natomiast koła. Z jednej strony jest ładnie odzwierciedlony wzór Monastella, z drugiej – brak odwzorowania tarcz hamulcowych i zabawkowe plastikowe kółka.
Największym grzechem producenta są oczywiście szkaradne lusterka boczne. Odlane razem z nadwoziem w złym miejscu i o złym kształcie, bardziej przywodzą na myśl zabawkę niż model kolekcjonerski. Choć to detal, to psuje jednak odbiór autka. Aby trochę poprawić wygląd modelu, dodałem szkiełka w lusterkach i pomalowałem elementy wlotu powietrza na srebrno. Dodałem też barwione wnętrze, choć tego przez małe szybki akurat nie widać.

Old, but gold! Despite 6 years on the market, the Renault Clio turned out to be the most popular new car in Europe in April.
According to data from Jato Dynamics, 19,820 units of the Clio were sold in Europe in April. Although this represents a 3% decrease compared to the same month last year, it was enough for the Clio to surpass its main rivals; the Dacia Sandero and the Peugeot 208. This also marks the first victory for the small Renault in the European ranking of the most popular new models since November 2021.
While the current Clio doesn’t match its predecessors in terms of sales volume, it still remains on the list of bestsellers in Europe. The guys at Renault just know how to appeal to buyers. An attractive design, frugal engines, easy handling and competitive pricing are very strong selling points. Thanks to a recent facelift in 2023, the Clio gained a fresher look, bringing its design up-to-date with the latest Renault models. However, despite continued customer interest, the days of the fifth-generation Clio are numbered. The next model is already undergoing pre-production testing, with its debut expected at the end of the year.
About the miniature – Renault Clio
I presented the current Clio in its top-spec Esprit Alpine guise on the blog last year. Today I’d like to show you a lower specification model – the Techno. In terms of looks, it mainly differs from the Esprit Alpine by the lack of decorative trim in the front bumper and a different wheel design. There are virtually no other visual changes.
The diecast model itself naturally uses the same casting, so its strengths and weakness are identical. The positives include a detailed replication of the front and rear lights, as well as the paint finish. The flame red colour looks fantastic and, in my opinion, is the best color for the Clio (besides Iron Blue). The wheels however, leave us with mixed feelings. On one hand, the Monastella design is nicely replicated; on the other hand, the lack of brake disc detail and the toy-like plastic wheels are a letdown.
The manufacturer’s biggest sin are undoubtedly the hideous wing mirrors. Cast as part of the body in the wrong place and with the wrong shape, they look more like a toy than a collector’s item. Although it’s a small detail, it does affect the overall appearance of the model. To slightly improve the model’s appearance, I added a glass-effect in the wing mirrors and painted the air intake elements silver. I also added a coloured interior, although it’s not really visible through the small windows.
