Oto jeden z moich najnowszych nabytków – limitowana do 1200 sztuk Ford Fiesta II Ghia od Corgi Vanguards.
Ford Fiesta II Ghia od Corgi Vanguards trafiła na rynek w czerwcu, a do mojej kolekcji dołączyła około trzech tygodni temu. Posiada numer 1152. Vanguards zdecydowanie nie próżnuje w temacie Fiesty drugiej generacji, gdyż jest to już ich trzeci (nie licząc sportowej odmiany XR2) model w dość krótkim czasie.
Najpierw, we wrześniu zeszłego roku, pojawiła się niebieska Fiesta w wersji Popular Plus (ją w kolekcji już mam). W styczniu tego roku do sprzedaży trafiła z kolei żółta Fiesta w wersji 1.1 L (tej jeszcze nie mam). Teraz, przyszła kolej na najbogatszą wersję Ghia.
Jak dowiadujemy się z karty informacyjnej dołączonej do modelu, na rynku brytyjskim Ford Fiesta Ghia jako nowe auto kosztował £6903,27. W skład standardowego wyposażenia wchodziły m.in. przyciemniane szyby, welurowa tapicerka, regulowane zagłówki, cyfrowy zegarek i radioodtwarzacza kasetowy z czterema głośnikami. Opcjonalny lakier metaliczny kosztował natomiast dodatkowe £126,44.
Do swojego najnowszego modelu, Vanguards wybrał dość rzadko spotykany w Fieście metaliczny lakier o nazwie Willow Green. Modelik wygląda w nim ładnie, co jest też zasługą jego szczegółowego odwzorowania. Ilość detali naprawdę może zachwycić. Producent odwzorował emblematy i unikalny herb wersji Ghia a nawet nalepkę autoryzowanego dealera Forda na tylnej szybie! Szczerze, kiedy ostatni widzieliśmy coś takiego w skali 1/43?!
Pomimo bardzo wysokiego poziomu odwzorowania, zauważyłem pewne braki. Mianowicie, brak szkiełek w bocznych lusterkach i wloty powietrza na podszybiu w kolorze nadwozia (powinny być czarne). To oczywiście tylko drobiazgi, ale mimo wszystko szkoda, że Vanguards o nie nie zadbał. Oba elementy były łatwe do poprawy, co też oczywiście uczyniłem.

Here is one of my latest purchases – the Ford Fiesta II Ghia from Corgi Vanguards, from a limited edition of 1200 pieces.
The Ford Fiesta II Ghia from Corgi Vanguards went on sale in June and joined my collection about three weeks ago. It has a serial number of 1152. Vanguards certainly isn’t wasting any time when it comes to the second-generation Fiesta. This is already their third model (not counting the sporty XR2 version) released in a relatively short period of time.
First, in September last year, they released a blue Fiesta Popular Plus (I already have that one in my collection). Then, in January this year, a yellow Fiesta 1.1 L went on sale (I don’t have that one yet). Now, it’s the turn of the top-of-the-range Ghia model.
According to the information card included with the model, the Ford Fiesta Ghia had a list price of £6,903.27 when new in the UK. Standard equipment included items such as tinted windows, crushed velour upholstery, adjustable head restraints, a digital clock and a four-speaker radio cassette stereo. Metallic paint was available as an optional extra at a cost of £126.44.
For its latest model, Vanguards opted for the Willow Green metallic paint finish, quite rarely seen on the Fiesta. It looks fantastic on the miniature, helped by the overall outstanding quality of the replica The amount of detail is truly impressive. The manufacturer replicated the badges, the distinctive Ghia crests and even the authorised Ford dealer sticker on the rear window! Honestly, when did we last see something like this in 1/43 scale?!
Despite the high level of detail, I did actually notice a couple of flaws. The door mirrors have no mirror glass, while the scuttle panel vents are finished in body colour rather than the correct black. These are only minor issues, of course, but it’s still a shame that Vanguards overlooked them. Both were easy enough to rectify and I’ve since corrected them myself.
