Od stycznia tego roku DeAgostini oferuje w Polsce nową serię: Syrenę 105 w skali 1:8 do samodzielnego składania. Po długim namyśle postanowiłem wykupić prenumeratę i zacząć montaż Syreny razem z małą przyczepką Niewiadów. W przeszłości zbierałem też Poloneza 1:8 (którego muszę dokończyć bo nadal jest rozgrzebany), ale po zebranych doświadczeniach mam teraz inne podejście. Zamiast czekać na wszystkie części i dopiero potem zacząć składanie, Syrenę będę starał się w miarę możliwości składać na bieżąco. Mam nadzieję, że pozwoli to wyłapać ewentualne problemy i im szybko zaradzić na wczesnym etapie, a nie po zakończeniu serii, jak to miało miejsce w przypadku Poloneza.
Postanowiłem także, że będę relacjonował budowę Syreny tutaj na blogu. Co jakiś czas będę publikował materiały z procesu jej składania. Dzisiaj część pierwsza relacji, po złożeniu pierwszych kilku części. Mając porównanie do Poloneza, z całą pewnością mogę stwierdzić że Syrena jest o wiele lepsza jakościowo. Składa ją się też o wiele przyjemniej niż Poloneza, pomimo iż wymaga trochę więcej umiejętności.
W pierwszej części otrzymaliśmy maskę. Co ciekawe, DeAgostini dało nam możliwość wyboru marki. Możemy wybrać między logo FSO i FSM. Ja postawiłem na to pierwsze.
W kolejnych częściach były takie elementy jak wlot powietrza, zderzak, przednie koło, elementy silnika i układu hamulcowego. Poniżej prezentuje kilka zdjęć z tego etapu budowy.

From January this year the publishing company DeAgostini offers a new series in Poland: an assembly kit for the Syrena 105 in 1:8 scale. After a lot of thought, I decided to buy the subscription and start assembling Syrena along with the little Niewiadów trailer. In the past, I also collected the 1:8 Polonez (which I have to finish, because it’s still there in bits), but after gained experience, I have a different approach now. Instead of waiting for all the parts and then starting the assembly, I will aim to assemble the Syrena as it comes out. I hope that this will allow to spot any potential problems and solve them early on, rather than after the series ended, like it was the case with the Polonez.
I also decided to show the Syrena’s assembly here on my blog. Every so often I will publish updates on the progress of building it. Today is part one, after assembling the first few parts. Being able to compare to the Polonez, I can definitely say that the Syrena has much better quality. Assembling it is also nicer than the Polonez, even though it requires a little bit more skill.
In the first pack we got the bonnet. Interestingly, DeAgostini gave us a choice of the car’s brand (Syrena 105 was produced under the FSO first, then under FSM), by supplying two logos. I opted for the FSO badge.
In subsequent packs there were elements such as the front grille, bumper, front wheel, engine and breaks components. Attached below are some photos of this stage of the assembly.
